Sixty years ago, on July 2, 1947, the State Museum in Oświęcim was established as the guardian over the place where the Nazis committed the crime of genocide and the Shoah.
Words, photopraphs, documentation, and the original camp buildings within the vast space of the Auschwitz-Birkenau site all bring history closer, so that they can make a difference to social attitudes today.
This issue is about the nature of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Musuem.
We invite you to read it.
