This catalogue, in Polish and German, presents Auschwitz concentration camp through stamps and postal items dating from 1940 to 1994. The catalogue is made up of two parts. Part I covers camp correspondence by prisoners, while Part II contains Polish and foreign postal items on Auschwitz themes.
The camp correspondence consists of camp cards, letters, envelopes, and postal forms (written in German and subject to camp censorship). The collection of postal items in Part II is made up of official stamps and postal memorabilia issued through the efforts of the Polish Philately Union branches in Oświęcim and Tarnów to mark various anniversaries connected with Auschwitz. These items include postmarks, stamps, complete postal items, and first-day issues.
